Welcome to Swaravali Music School

Thank you for stopping by Swaravali Music School.

The music school is located in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Bhavani Pemmaraju, a professionaly trained singer and teacher learnt Carnatic music from very well known Guru Smt.Rajee Narayan at Nritya Geetanjali School in Mumbai, India. Performed on several stages including the prestigious Shanmukhananda hall in Mumbai.

Bhavani subsequently studied Hindustani Classical music under Guru Kishore Kandhari of Sanskritik Niketan in Mumbai affiliated to the Prayag Sangeeet Samithi of Allahabad.

She also received training in bhajans, and light music compositions. During the late seventies in Mumbai, Bhavani worked with the music Director Vanraj Bhatia doing jingles and radio commercials as a voice over artist. In Mumbai she was a singer for the music group “Telugu Sahitya Samithi” a Telugu music and literary orgazination in the 1970s before migrating to the United States.

In the United States she was a vocalist for a music group called “Swara Lahari” during the 1980s-1990s. She is the founder of Swaravali Music School offering lessons in Carnatic, Hindustani, light classical and devotional music. Classes are offered in person as well as long distance via Skype

Individual attention will be given to students. We follow the prescribed curriculum for government examinations in India. Once students finish preliminary lessons, performance opportunities will also be given to students. Conact Bhavani at swaravali1@gmail.com for information on classes.
